And as a result, the company developed PeopleSoft 8. In September 2000, PSFT began shipping the product, marking its largest technological advance in enterprise software in more than a decade. PeopleSoft 8 includes 59 newly developed, pure internet collaborative applications that enable organizations to create a real-time, collaborative network of customers, employees, and suppliers. PeopleSoft 8 applications can be accessed anytime and from anywhere with a standard internet browser because they do not require software to be installed on the users personal computer.
